What is Timo and how does it work?

Timo is an AI-first trading platform. You build automated trading strategies, called playbooks, either yourself or together with Timo, test them against historical data, then run them on your own broker or prop firm account. Timo executes the rules you wrote; it never decides a trade of its own.

What is a credit?

Credits are the single balance that pays for everything Timo does for you: your AI partner agent, simulations, and hosting a connected trading account. Every plan includes a set number of credits each month, shown on each plan above.

What uses credits?

Three things: working with your AI partner agent, running simulations, and keeping a connected trading account hosted and running. All three come out of one balance, so there are no separate quotas to juggle. A quiet month on simulations simply leaves more for everything else.

Do my unused credits roll over?

Your plan's monthly credits don't roll over. They refresh to your full allowance each month. Credits you buy as a top-up are different: they don't expire and stay in your balance until you use them.

Can I buy more credits if I run out?

Yes. You can top up on demand at any time, on any plan, so you don't have to upgrade to get more.

Can I get more credits each month?

Yes. Pick a bigger plan for a larger monthly allowance, or top up on demand whenever you need to.

Are credits refundable?

Accepted Answer

No. Subscription fees and credits aren't refundable, and credits can't be exchanged for cash. This doesn't affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

What happens if I cancel?

You keep full access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, so cancelling does not cut you off early. You can cancel any time from Plans & Credits in your settings.

Do you offer monthly billing?

Not at the moment. Every plan is billed annually.

Do you charge per user?

No. Plans are priced by the credits they include, not by seats.

Do I need my own broker account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You connect your own MetaTrader 4 or 5 account from your broker or prop firm. Timo is not a broker and never holds your funds. Your money stays exactly where it already is.

Can Timo place trades without my permission?

Accepted Answer

Only if you give it that power, and you grant each one separately. Reading your account, building playbooks, deploying them and placing trades are all distinct permissions you control. Even then, Timo never decides a trade of its own: it runs the rules you wrote, and you can stop any automation instantly.

Can I test a strategy before risking real money?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Run any playbook through the simulator against historical data and see how it would have behaved before you connect it to a live account. Simulated results are hypothetical and are not a promise of future performance.

Can I use my own AI instead of Timo’s?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Connect Claude or ChatGPT through the MCP connector and your own assistant works your account through exactly the same governed permissions. Included on every paid plan.
